I'm pretty sure me and my friends are going to love it. It was a great take on the idea of a "hall of fame" or "walk of fame", where luminaries of zombie movies (mainly the George Romero ones) left their handprints in "blood" rather than in cement. Another highlight was the trip to nearby Monroeville, PA to visit the mall there. ( Log Out / I'll mention that part of the visit after this group of photos. Although not shown in the movie, the Lane Bryant store was in the same location in 1978 as it is now, making Lane Bryant the single last holdout from the “Dawn of the Dead” era. The first night of the 2011 Drive-In Super Monster-Rama was an absolute blast! plus theres a zombie museum near macys. The store was called. Very little of 1978 remains inside Monroeville Mall. THE EVANS CITY LOCATION IS NOW CLOSED. Monroeville Mall is a prime example. The museum (and store itself) closed not long after our visit in 2010 and didn't re-open until this past fall. Serving as the main set for the original Dawn of the Dead, the mall continues to be one of the country's most famous shopping landmarks. I was in the same boat. A lot has changed since 1978 of course. I love this Mall. Bath and Body Works, she got here nails done at 90s Nails, I looked at Cash-in Culture, got something to eat at Flamer's in the food court. I picked up an awesome “Deep Red” movie poster complete with creepy baby doll. The museum, located in the arcade/mini-golf section on the mall's first floor, also has a zombie-themed gift shop. Monroeville Mall may look harmless from the outside, but in 1978 it was host to a throng of hungry zombies and a small group of survivors who had the run of the place. Of course he didn't ride in the cart after his transformation into a zombie, but it's a great display! What makes this mall so special and worth an hour's drive to get to when sleep is such a valuable commodity? This has nothing to do with zombies, but there’s a really cool toy store in the mall right next to the Monroeville Zombies. I suppose describing the mall as harmless is relative depending on your view of shopping malls. To me, shopping malls are the epitome of modern commercialism and the people who frequent them may already be zombies. Win.
